A beautiful website submitted by Olive. Enjoy!     http://www.andiesisle.com/imagine.html

Olive celebrated her seventieth birthday with her family around her. Wanting to share with Quincy a gift given to her from her son John and his family, we posted it here for all to read.

The Mirror

Mirror given to Olive on her birthday 2006

This mirror may reflect the face
that you have worn for all of your seventy years.
It may reflect the changes
as you have grown and aged.

It may reflect your expressions,
catching the sadness, wonder, and joy you have felt.

However,
this mirror cannot reflect all of you.
It does not reflect your kindness and your
friendliness.
(says Alex)

It will not reflect how easy you are to talk to
or how caring you are
(says Corey)

It cannot reflect the way you give and give
and forgive and forgive
(says Jesse)

Never could that mirror catch the sight of
your steady ways,
your perseverance,
your helpfulness

And this mirror has no way of reflecting
your devotion to your family
And the generosity shown to those you love
(says John and Marcia)

Those radiant things this little mirror may never reflect.

Yet, we see them when we see you.

Happy Seventieth Birthday

Given to me by John and Marcia – 1/23/2006

.

Spring is here and a wonderful time for fresh flowers.
Put your mouse over the picture to see a close-up of the wreath.
