John L Case, (81) 2nd son of the late Alpha and Myrtle (Muse) Case born August
20, 1929 in Erie Pa, passed away on Saturday July 16, 2011, at his home in
Chiefland Florida. He will be greatly missed but very happy to be
joining Kitty. He was preceded by his wife of 51 years, Catherine (Kitty), his two sons Kenneth John and Kelly Gene, his two brothers Robert Ray and Gerald Guy Case, one sister Anna Mae Fuller and three bothers-in-law William Warren, Quincy Walmer and William Fuller. He is survived by: Daughters: Kathy (Butch) Hughes and Karen (Billy) Powers and his Sisters: Daisy (Warren) Setzler of Willard Ohio, Olive Walmer of McKean Pa, Virginia Warren of Suwannee Ga, Shirley (Larry) Walmer of Tionesta, Pa and Brother: James Oliver ( Evelyn) Case of Prescott Valley, Az., Grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A special thank you to his wonderful friend Shoney Grosky. John L Case graduated from Academy High School in Erie Pa June of 1947 and entered the U.S. Navy March 1948. He attended Great Lakes Training camp and was sent to the aircraft carrier USS Leyte where he served until February 1952 after participating in the Korean Conflict. He later worked twenty odd years as tool and die maker with General Electric Co, nine years of it in Louisville’s appliance park. His later years were spent as owner operator of tractor trailer hauling steel across the states as "Casey Jones" on the CB Radio. John and Catherine retired to Chiefland Florida in 1989. John was an extra class amateur ham radio operator since 1991 when he accrued his novice ticket. He enjoyed his digital communications most every day with his nephew Butch Peelman of Erie and other operators around the world. His call letters: AD4WK will be signing off the air. The meaning of the call letters are as follows: A=always, D=doing, 4=for, W=wife, K=kitty. They are together now after nine years. As soon as can be arranged, John will be taken to East Springfield Cemetery in Pennsylvania to be placed beside his wife and sons. There will be a memorial service there for the joining of our family. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

July 20, 2011 John and Kitty were wonderful people. I got to know them through Kelly and was friends with Kenny too.
