The Lord called John home on Monday, March 12, 2007 while at Hamot
Medical Center. The cancer that plagued his earthly body would
pain him no more. John was born in Erie on May 4, 1950, son of John and Edith Montroy, Sr. of Erie. He was employed with General Electric Company for 36 years and was a member of the U. E. Local #506, the Sunflower Club and the South Erie Turners. John loved to travel, walk and visit Las Vegas, Atlantic City and Canada at the Niagara Falls. He also enjoyed reading, particularly at the Library and Barnes and Nobles and especially spending time with his grandchildren. |

Besides his parents, he is survived by his wife, Darlene
Smith Montroy; four children, Michael Montroy of N.C.,
John Montroy and girlfriend Jenna Darr, Stephanie Montroy
and fiancé Sam Morris and Debra Montroy all of Erie; two
sisters, Kathy Firster and fiancé Suad Skobalj of Erie and
Nancy and Ken Hartsfield of Colo.; three brothers, David,

| 3/17/07 Just learning of John passing from his sister Kathy. I created this memorial for a good friend's brother. I knew John and his family growing up. Kathy was one of my bests friends and I still think of her has one, although we don't see much of each other. She told me his funeral was packed, that a lot of people came to pay their respects. I know John was well liked and respected. I welcome him into our members list and invite anyone to send photos and memories and I will post them here. Margaret (Fuller )Harrison |
