William S. Dewey
William S. "Bill" Dewey, born May 26, 1951, son of
the late Thomas and Delores Greishober Dewey.
Employed at Sidehill Coppers Works for four years, he formerly worked as a machinist at Zurn
Industries for 22 years. He also served as vice president of the steelworkers union at Zurn.
For 20 years, he was a coach for area softball teams. He was the assistant coach at Mercyhurst
North East for the 2002 and 2003 seasons. He also was on the coaching staff at Mercyhurst
College, Strong Vincent High School and was a head coach for various women's summer teams.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors include two loving sons, Brian and Michael Dewey of Erie; a brother, Tom Dewey and his
wife, Merry Carol, of Las Vegas; and his stepmother, Violet Wentz of Erie.
Knowing that his time on Earth was done, the Lord called him home.
No more pain and sickness. He is laid to rest. at Calvary Cemetery.
