Autumn 53, lifelong resident of Erie, died at home, surrounded by loved
ones after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Erie, Pa. July
12, 1953, daughter of the late Jean Ann and Noyd DeForce. She attended
Burton Grade School, Wilson Junior High and East High School. |

I knew the DeForce family growing up in school and as friends. Sister
Autumn was protected by her big brothers Matt, Murray, Doug and Clark
Although our lives went separate ways, their memories stay with us.

I have known Autumn for over 30 years and have loved her and her family
for that long she always made me laugh. The week my husband passed away
she came to my home and talked to me for about two hours it really helped.
Now I am very lucky to watch her new grandson. So when I have him I give
him hugs and kisses from his pita. Mark and Markis you know that I am

I am so heartbroken for you and everyone who's life Autumn
had touched. She was an inspiration in strength and loyalty. Autumn and
Mark opened their home to me like family. I will fiercely cherish those
memories. I am so sorry that I could not be home for the service. I wish
with all of my heart that it could have been different. Please know Big
Mark and Little Mark that I love you deeply and you are in my heart and
thoughts. I will always remember Autumn as a mother. She may not have been
my blood, but that is how she will be remembered by this heart. |

I was so sorry to hear of Autumns passing . I haven't seen
her for many years . We went to East High together and I see by her
picture , she hadn't change much . She still had that beautiful smile. May
God give her family & friends strength and comfort in the days & years
ahead . |

Amie and what else can I say that people haven't already said....she was a
wonderful woman who ALWAYS could make you smile and laugh. I'm so grateful

I will miss Autumn for the rest of my life. She taught me to be myself and
stand up for yourself. She might have been a small woman, but she had the

Though I always called her by name, in my head Autumn didn't have one. She
was always just Mom. I cared for her as deeply as my own mother. She has a
lot to do with who I am today. It hurts to hear of her passing. I haven't
been back to Erie for years, but she was and still is carried close to my
heart. Though our bodies may come to an end we live forever in the memory
of our loved ones. She will live with me in my heart, for the rest of my

Autumn was a unique individual. She gave all of herself to all those she

As I read all of the entries I am reminded of how many people Autumn
touched in her short life. Heaven must of needed some sunshine and now

Big Mark and Little Mark, This year has been the hardest year of my life. Losing Autumn was something I never truly thought would happen. And the reason for that was because of the most amazing friend I have ever been blessed to have. She had me believing to the end that she would make it. When she left us, I didn't think my heart would make it. Even though I knew she was in God's Kingdom, I was being selfish and only thinking of all the people that still needed her. Myself included in that big time. What I have learned from Aut in our 24plus years of friendship is endless. Whatever reason God took her for, now I pray that she looks after my daughter. 4/24/07 Thank you to the Ziacik family for all they have done for my family. Autumn was the heart and soul of so many and so much. She reached out to anyone she could. She helped whoever needed it and whoever asked for it. The world is a little dimmer now that she has gone from it. I never got a chance to say, "Thank you!" for helping my little sister Tierney when she lived with you, or for being one of the only positive people in my mom's life. You knew at the end what was gong on in my little sis's life and prayed for her. Thank you so much! I am only so sorry that I did not have the chance to say it to your face. I think you know now though. I miss hanging out at your house for lunch on Sunday. I kinda counted on that when I would visit Erie. Not so many reasons to visit now that some of the best people have gone...I will mourn these losses for a long time.
